What Are Dental Fillings?
Dental fillings are what dentists use to fill in cavities in teeth caused by tooth decay. Cavities, which look like small holes, are the result of the bacteria in your mouth leaving behind acid that slowly eats away at your tooth enamel – the outer coating of your teeth.
If left untreated, the tooth decay will spread, causing further damage, and potentially leading to an infection. This is why dental fillings are so important. They act to restore the function, shape and appearance of the tooth, while preventing further decay.
At The Dental Abode, we’ll spot any signs of decay before they get serious. Together, we’ll fix the gap, stop the decay, and give you the most natural smile with our teeth-coloured dental fillings.
Stop the decay before it gets worse by booking a consultation with us today!
The Dental Abode’s Approach
Getting dental fillings is simple! Following the initial consultation, your treatment will usually be carried out within one or two appointments. Here they will remove any decay before filling the newly cleaned cavity with a material of your choice.
The type of filling used may depend on the location of the cavity, its size, the cost of the filling material and, ultimately, your preference. Here are the two materials we offer:
- Composite Resin Fillings – These cost-effective fillings are made from a tooth-coloured synthetic resin material.
- CEREC Porcelain Fillings – These high-quality fillings are made from porcelain which makes them metal-free, biocompatible, and long-lasting.
